Durant will remain out of action for at least two weeks due to a left calf strain sustained on Friday. The Suns announced the injury news on Saturday. ESPN’s Shams Charania confirmed that the team will re-evaluate him in two weeks.
“Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant—off to an MVP-caliber start to the NBA season—suffered a left calf strain on Friday night and will miss be re-evaluated in two weeks, sources tell ESPN. Durant has led Suns to a first-place start in the Western Conference at 8-1,” Charania reported.
For the Suns, this injury is a significant blow, especially with Durant’s exceptional performance so far. The 36-year-old star, who recently blasted Stephen A. Smith, has been averaging 27.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, playing a crucial role in all nine games of the season.
