Jalen Green feels he has a responsibility towards rookie Cam Whitmore. The Houston Rockets player feels he has to be a mentor to the player as he was in his shoes two years back.
Green said,
“It’s important. I was just in his shoes two years ago. This is my third year. I’m starting to get to that point where I’m looked at as someone who’s been in the league for a little bit, someone who’s respected and learn from. The good, the bad, the ugly. Super important.”
Green has also said that it’s all good energy and vibes in the locker room. Both players are integral to the Houston Rockets.
Cam Whitmore was recently involved in a scuffle with Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker. They both exchanged words with each other.
Since the start of his NBA career, the 19-year-old rookie has been involved in situations of this nature. He got into a verbal fight with Hornets player LaMelo Ball only last month. He enjoys highlighting such issues, even if he may not always be the catalyst. Maybe the youngster is constantly fired up and wants to prove to the NBA that he is a tough opponent.

Ime Udoka has not yet played Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore together
Head coach Ime Udoka has toyed with the Green-Whitmore combo on the court, but they haven’t committed to a serious partnership.
There is a chance to experiment with the pair given the Rockets’ offensive problems this season—they have been a bottom-10 team for the majority of the campaign and rank 28th in points scored per 100 possessions since the All-Star break.
This is especially true given that Houston’s chances of qualifying for the Play-In Tournament are now all but gone. (With just 20 games remaining in the season, the Rockets were six games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 10 spot on Friday.)
