It might be hard to tell, but Carmelo Anthony is still in the NBA and a member of the Houston Rockets.
Appearing in just 10 games with the team, Melo has been away from the team since November 10th as they continue to look for a team that will take him off their hands. On Saturday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Rockets are now aggressively pursuing a deal for the forward in order to make a roster available by Monday for big man Kenneth Faried.
The Brooklyn Nets announced they officially waived Faried on Saturday, clearing the way for him to sign with the team.
The Rockets are currently dealing with an injury bug as Chris Paul, Clint Capela, and Eric Gordon have all gone done to injuries. Danuel House, who was a bright spot for the team, was sent down to the G-League after he and the team couldn’t agree on a contract.
Faried, the 29-year-old forward, is on an expiring deal worth $13.8 million and has appeared in 12 games with Brooklyn.
