The NBA world is still reeling from the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks. Just as Mavericks fans were left stunned by the departure of Luka Doncic, Lakers fans are finding it hard to imagine their team without Davis.
Davis, who played a crucial role in the Lakers’ 2020 championship run, often carried the team when LeBron James struggled. His defensive presence and ability to take over games made him indispensable to the Lakers’ system.
On Sunday morning, Davis arrived in Dallas following the trade. While Mavericks fans eagerly welcomed their new star, Davis’ face suggested frustration rather than excitement. The former Lakers big man appeared unenthusiastic the whole way.

LeBron James has shown his love and support for Anthony Davis after the Lakers traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. In an Instagram story, the Lakers legend shared a heartfelt message for his longtime teammate, writing, “Love you my dog!! Go crazy over there.”
According to Statmuse, Davis played 312 games for the Lakers, averaging 24.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. This season, he scored even better numbers, averaging 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
Nevertheless, it remains unclear when Davis will make his debut for the Mavericks. Team president and general manager Nico Harrison admitted that Davis has no set timeline for putting on a Dallas jersey.
