LeBron James’ dream will finally take shape in a couple of months when he shares the same court with his eldest son, Bronny James. The young guard got his entry into the NBA after he was drafted by the Lakers with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
For the first time in the league’s history, a father-son duo will play on the hardwood in the same colors. LeBron will reportedly extend his stay by signing a new 3-year deal. However, this gave rise to another possibility that the 39-year-old could also play with his younger son Bryce James in the league, who instantly discarded the idea.
The 17-year-old was doing an Instagram live during which this question was shot at him. Bryce responded by saying, “Nah, he’s gonna be 42, Bruh.”
Bryce is still in his junior year of high school and has at least two more years before getting through in the league like his brother. Being practical about LeBron’s NBA career, the younger James stated that by the time he gets drafted, his father will be 42 and might retire.
If LeBron extends his contract with the Lakers, he would have a maximum of three years, which is reportedly the time he wishes to spend on the hardwood. But for now, he only wants the spotlight to be on Bronny as it is his big moment, and he appreciates everyone’s support for his son.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see whether the four-time champion decides to share the same locker room with his son or leave the Lakers after six seasons. All eyes will be on LeBron, though deep down, everyone knows what his decision will be.
