The New York Knicks are just a proverbial dumpster fire of an organization that can never get things right during the offseason.
Fresh off a free-agency period that saw New York fail to land any top-end players as the Brooklyn Nets became a title contender with the signings of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, it turns out it stopped the franchise from making a 3rd signing as well.
Shams Charania of The Athletic indicated on Wednesday that the team had interest in bringing in Carmelo, but only if they had gotten two top free agents. As you saw, they got nothing.
It had been reported after Durant’s decision to join the Nets that he was headed to the Knicks but then the terrible injury in the NBA Finals changed everything.
As for Anthony, he is 35-years-old and doesn’t seem to be garnering any interest from teams around the league.
That farewell tour is likely not going to happen.
