Now that the New York Knicks know they have 0 chance in acquiring Zion Williamson in the 2019 NBA Draft, it is time to start thinking about who they are going to select in next month’s draft.
The franchise continues to be linked to Duke forward R.J. Barrett with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but that might be off the table as well.
ESPN reported Friday that the Knicks have “explored the possibility” of trading back in the draft, which includes giving up the #3 pick to the Atlanta Hawks.
“The Knicks, who are projected to select Barrett with their No. 3 draft pick, have considered possibly trading picks to “acquire pieces that better complement” free agents like Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving. New York has explored trading its No. 3 draft pick with the Hawks for their No. 8 and No. 10 picks.”
Superstars like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard are among some of the top names that could look for new homes in free agency and the Knicks do not want to strike out this offseason as they continue to look for that one player to turn their franchise around.

The Knicks could quite possibly keep the pick, draft R.J. Barrett and use him as trade bait to get them what they really want.
