Anthony Edwards has dazzled in the postseason so far, and many consider this to be a breakout of a superstar. His authoritative performance has compared him to a young Michael Jordan, and many have wondered about the inspirations in Ant-Man’s life.
On the eve of game 3, the Timberwolves guard was asked such a question and a specific opponent came into the conversation. When a curious reporter asked him if Jamal Murray was the one he tracked, Edwards was quick to shut down the suggestion. “Hell nah. What is he 27? I’m finna turn 23, dog. [Kevin Durant] is 36 or 35,” said a confident Anthony Edwards.
Given the age difference between the two, it was quite obvious to begin with, but the 22-year-old’s brutal dismissal of Murray only drew parallel with their on-court match-up which the Timberwolves ace had thoroughly dominated.
Anthony Edwards Dominated Jamal Murray and Nuggets So Far
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals and Anthony Edwards has been one of the key pioneers of their success so far.
His 43 in game 1 and 27 points in game 2 were the catalysts in the lead, but his defensive work is not something to sleep on. Edwards gave Jamal Murray a nightmare of a series so far, locking him out to a scoreless first half in game one. Game 2 was no different for the Canadian guard as he recorded a measly 16.7% shooting with only 8 points to show for.

The thorough mauling seemingly took a toll on Murray when he was at the center of controversies in the second game. His heat pack and towel throws earned him a $100K fine from the NBA, which only compounds his hapless series so far.
On Friday, the two teams will meet again at the Target Center and, given Anthony Edwards’ form, the series could easily get to an unsalvageable position for the Nuggets.
