The Lakers and the Nuggets came face-to-face on Monday night in game 5 of the playoff series. With the season on the line, the Lakers tried their best, but that wasn’t enough to stop the Nuggets winning 108-106.
Anthony Davis, who was in fine form throughout the series, suffered an injury in the third quarter of the game, which limited his output when he came back later in the fourth quarter. After the defeat, questions popped up about LeBron James’ future with the franchise, to which Davis said, “We compliment each other, we’ve done something special together. Good thing about it is I’m gonna be with him all summer… He knows how I feel about him.”
The Lakers duo will indeed spend the summer together, representing Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. LeBron and AD were the constant upsides of the Lakers’ side, which struggled in the series against the reigning NBA champions.
Davis’ words can provide a measure of encouragement to the Lakers fans as their bond is something that is equally cherished by LBJ as well.
LeBron James Believes Anthony Davis Has Nothing to Prove
The Lakers had shown a glimpse of hope to their fans after securing a 119-108 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 4. Their aces LeBron James and Anthony Davis took the LA team on their shoulders and, with their heroics, recorded a win after 11 consecutive disappointments against Denver.
During a post-game interview when LeBron was asked about the game, he highlighted Davis’ contribution and said, “It’s just key for a lot of things that we want to do and I think AD doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody. He’s one of the best bigs we have in the game, one of the best bigs in the world. And he’s showing that again through the first four games.”

Despite the duo’s hard work, the Nuggets snatched the win in crunch time thanks to Jamal Murray in game 5, ending the Lakers’ dream of acquiring the 18th championship trophy. Only time will tell if the mutual respect between the two will be enough to lure LeBron back to the LA franchise next season.
