Since Kobe Bryant left the NBA, Anthony Edwards might be the star many people have been waiting for. Even when the game is finished, he remains vicious and a trash talker. Stephen A. Smith, a sports commentator for ESPN, compared Edwards’ mindset to those of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
After the Minnesota Timberwolves grabbed a 2-0 lead in the series, Smith lost trust in the Denver Nuggets. He no longer feels the same way about Nikola Jokic or the Nuggets. Smith predicted that Jokic would have a massive night in Game 7, referring to the Nuggets’ lopsided loss in Game 6.
“He is just that dude. There was MJ, there was Kobe and then there is him,” Smith said.
However, Smith also mentioned that Anthony Edwards will play for the Timberwolves in Game 7. Smith stated that Edwards lives for these significant occasions because of his mentality.
The Nuggets and Timberwolves will square off in the series-deciding game on Sunday at Ball Arena in Denver.

On ESPN’s “First Take,” Kendrick Perkins discussed his predictions for the conclusion of this series. Even though Nikola Jokic seems locked in, he believes Anthony Edwards can match him man-to-man.
“I don’t give a damn about Jokic having a look in his eyes. Because you know why? They got somebody on the other side of the floor that’s going to look him dead in the eyes as well and has the same look. And his name is Anthony Edwards.” Perkins said.
Anthony Edwards must perform well if Minnesota hopes to make the conference finals. Jokic has been playing more aggressively lately and won’t let his team lose. According to the NBA website, in Game 5, the three-time MVP came to life, scoring 40 points and 13 rebounds.
