Things have turned ugly since the NBA named the All-Star reserves for both conferences. This list is and will always be incomplete without Trae Young. The Atlanta Hawks star recently voiced his disappointment over the names.
Following another snub from the NBA All-Star roster, Young playfully coined the term “Traed” to express his feelings about the ongoing situation. He took to his official X(formerly Twitter) account to discuss the situation.
“& it’s no longer getting “snubbed” it’s getting “Traed” at this point. Sorry to my fans.. it’ll change eventually! All right, talk soon!” Trae Young tweeted.

The snub is particularly striking as Young could become the first player in NBA history to average 20 points and 10 assists in multiple seasons without an All-Star selection. As the Hawks struggle to maintain a winning record, some fans speculate that being part of a small-market franchise may hinder his visibility. Nevertheless, Young’s stellar performances on the court have not gone unnoticed, and many believe he deserves recognition for his contributions to the team.
However, this season has been particularly challenging for Young. He is experiencing the worst scoring performance of his career since his rookie year. His decrease in scoring volume has led to an immense offensive burden to bear for the Hawks. Currently, Atlanta’s record lags behind other teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite acknowledging the talent of those who made the cut, Barkley emphasized his shock. He points out that Young has what he considers the best season of his career. However, this season has been so-so for Young.
He’s averaging 11.4 assists and 22.7 points per game. However, his Atlanta Hawks’ struggling record of 22-25 may have affected the perception of his contributions. With other notable players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Donovan Mitchell earning places on the roster, the debate over who truly deserves a spot can often overshadow the individual achievements of players like Young.
