The Memphis Grizzlies kicked off their season on a high note with a thrilling 121-116 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in their first preseason game on Monday night. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Grizzlies’ star player, Ja Morant.
After a challenging previous season marked by a suspension and a shoulder injury, Morant was eager to make a strong comeback. His determination was evident as he took the court on Monday, ready to lead his team. Unfortunately, Morant faced a potential setback due to injury.
During their preseason game against the Mavericks, the Grizzlies star had to make two trips back to the locker room, both for what appeared to be an ankle injury. NBA insider Nick Angstadt reported the troubling moment.
“Ja Morant just came up limping again and then looked at a trainer and gave the ‘I’m done’ sign. He went back to the locker room,” Angstadt reported following the game.
Ja Morant Addresses Injury Concerns After Grizzlies’ Preseason Win
Last season was challenging for Ja Morant, who faced significant obstacles that limited his playing time. After missing the first 25 games due to a gun video incident, he made a comeback but soon fell victim to a shoulder injury. Ultimately, Morant only participated in nine games during the entire season.
As the new season approached, Morant was determined to shut down the critics. But concerns about Morant’s health resurfaced. After a preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks, fans were anxious to hear an update on his condition.
