Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been suspended indefinitely following his appearance on Instagram Live toting a pistol and, according to TMZ, he’s now the subject of a police investigation.
The publication cites a spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department in Colorado which has revealed that the authorities launched a probe shortly after Morant went live from what looked to be a strip club while brandishing a firearm during the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Per the spokesperson, police “have confirmed the incident took place at a bar in Glendale.”
“We are investigating the matter,” they added, though no additional details were given.
Morant is now the model of controversy, having taken to IG Live himself to flash a handgun while news reports concerning certain allegations were still fresh.
Just a few days prior, The Washington Post revealed that Morant was reported to police for punching a teen in the head and threatening him with a firearm last summer. This is also in the wake of the NBA investigating an incident in which someone was accused of pointing the laser from a firearm at a member of the Indiana Pacers staff while in the point guard’s vehicle.

The Grizzlies announced the 23-year-old would be stepping away from the team for at least two games but it’s since been revealed that the absence is indefinite, while the NBA is expected to step in with their own punishment as they are also investigating the matter.
Morant has apologized to the team and fans, promising he will seek help after letting them down.
