Week 4 of NBA basketball is already done and a few contenders are starting to show their dominance on the court. Some strong teams are also struggling due to injuries and suspensions.
Today, we will be grading all 30 NBA teams in week 4 of NBA basketball.
Atlanta Hawks: C- (Last Week B-)
After a strong week 3, the Hawks fumbled in week 4. They went just 1-4 this past week, only winning against the cellar-dwelling Pistons. Trae Young and Dejounte Murray have struggled with their shots recently.
Boston Celtics: A+ (Last Week A-)
Boston has proven that they are the juggernauts of the Eastern Conference. The Sixers, Knicks and Raptors were easily dismantled by Jason Tatum and the rest of the Celtics this past week.
Brooklyn Nets: C+ (Last Week C)

When engaged, this Brooklyn team is tough to beat. Even without Cam Thomas and Ben Simmons in the lineup, this team is still dangerous. They won convincingly against the Wizards and the Magic before taking a loss against the surging Miami Heat.
Charlotte Hornets: D- (Last Week C-)
LaMelo Ball is on a crazy scoring streak right now but the Hornets still can’t get wins. They went 0-4 this past week and most of the losses were blowouts. Miles Bridges is back but it’s clear that they need a full roster in order to compete.
Chicago Bulls: C- (Last Week C-)
Chicago went 2-3 but surprisingly won against the red-hot Miami to end their week of basketball. They lost to the Magic twice and got outclassed by the Bucks. Zach LaVine’s name is currently in the middle of the trade rumors right now.
Cleveland Cavaliers: B- (Last Week B-)
After losing a close contest with the Kings, Cleveland showed their might and romped both Detroit and the Blazers. Their starting lineup is slowly clicking on the court and they are primed to extend their winning streak on week 5.
Dallas Mavericks: A- (Last Week A)
The Mavs had an up-and-down week and that was expected because the level of competition they are currently facing is getting tougher. Irving has finally found his shooting touch and that’s great news for Dallas.
Denver Nuggets: A- (Last Week A+)
Denver truly missed the services of Jamal Murray this past week. Losing to the Rockets and the Pelicans was a huge blow for them. Nikola Jokic can’t do it all by himself and other players need to step up their game.
Detroit Pistons: D- (Last Week D-)
The Pistons are on a 10-game losing streak right now. This young team is healthy but Coach Monty Williams’ rotation has been atrocious. This will definitely be another long year for the fans of Detroit.
Golden State Warriors: C- (Last Week B-)
The beloved Warriors are currently on a 6 game slide right now. To make things worse, Draymond Green has been suspended for five games after putting Rudy Gobert on a headlock. Curry is also battling his own injuries and Thompson’s shooting woes have continued.
Houston Rockets: B+ (Last Week B+)
The Rockets’ winning streak was cut by the Clippers due to James Harden’s game-winner. But don’t fret as they are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now and they are gunning for a top 6 finish in the Western Conference this season.
Indiana Pacers: B+ (Last Week B+)
After an ugly loss to Philadelphia to start the week, they quickly bounced back to defeat Joel Embiid and the gang a few nights later. This young team is full of potential and very well-coached at the same time.
Los Angeles Clippers: C- (Last Week C-)
The Clippers finally won a game after trading for James Harden. But hold onto your brakes as this team still has a lot to do before we label them as contenders. People tend to forget that they lost to the undermanned Grizzlies team to start week 4.
Los Angeles Lakers: B- (Last Week C)
The Lakers took care of business against lottery-bound teams this past week. A soon-to-be 39-year-old LeBron James is still the best player on the roster. Anthony Davis has been struggling with his shot as of late and has been performing inconsistently since the start of this season.
Memphis Grizzlies: C (Last Week D)
The Grizzlies had a relatively successful week of basketball. They won against the Clippers and played their hearts out against Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs. If they can sustain a week like this before Ja Morant’s return, they still have a glimmer of hope to turn around their season.
Miami Heat: A (Last Week B)
After a struggling start to the season, Miami went on to have a 7 game-winning streak before losing to the underwhelming Bulls to end their week. Duncan Robinson has been a huge factor for Miami and Jimmy Butler has finally woken up from his slump.
Milwaukee Bucks: A (Last Week B)
When Lillard and Antetokounmpo are playing well, this Bucks team is hard to stop. They are on a 4 game-winning streak right now and are looking like legitimate contenders with each game passing by. And Brook Lopez’s defense is back.
Minnesota Timberwolves: A+ (Last Week A-)
The Wolves are currently in the top 2 in the West and they are one of the best teams in the league today. It is truly an exciting time for the franchise which was not felt by fans since Kevin Garnett’s playing days.
New Orleans Pelicans: C+ (Last Week C-)
Kudos to the Pelicans for grinding it out despite missing several key players due to injuries. They beat the Nuggets and the Mavs and almost took down the surprising Timberwolves to end their week.
New York Knicks: B+ (Last Week C)
Brunson has emerged as one of the top point guards in the league this season and with his stellar play, the Knicks went 4-1 in week 4. Julius Randle’s shots are finally falling after starting the first few weeks of the season in an ugly slump.
Oklahoma City Thunder: B+ (Last Week B-)
This young Thunder squad is so much fun to watch. They are on a 4 game-winning streak and convincingly beat the Suns and the Warriors twice this past week. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a stud and rookie Chet Holmgrem is a baller.
Orlando Magic: B- (Last Week B-)
After losing to the Brooklyn Nets, Orlando won back-to-back games against the struggling Bulls this past week. While their offense is centered around attacking the basket, they are lacking a legitimate three-point shooter on the roster right now.
Philadelphia 76ers: A- (Last Week A+)
Going 2-2 was uncharacteristic for the Sixers. Losing Kelly Oubre Jr. was a huge hit on their team as he was a surprising performer after James Harden’s departure. Maxey also cooled down a bit in the past few games.
Phoenix Suns: B (Last Week B-)
With Booker’s return, the Suns are looking like a dangerous team to deal with in the West. Kevin Durant is off to a great start and has been scoring like crazy this season. The biggest problem for them is Bradley Beal’s injury. He’s now out indefinitely.
Portland Trail Blazers: D- (Last Week C-)
This was another tough week for the Blazers. They have G-league caliber players starting in their backcourt right now due to the injuries of their starters. Ayton is looking lost on the court and his numbers have been ugly since the start of the year.
Sacramento Kings: A (Last Week B-)
Now that De’Aaron Fox is back in the lineup, Sacramento is slowly capturing their magic back as a team. They racked up impressive wins against tough opponents this past week. They are on a roll right now.
San Antonio Spurs: D- (Last Week C)
The Spurs are on an 8 game losing streak right now. They relatively kept their games close this past week but faltered during crunch time. Victor Wembanyama also committed a ton of turnovers which hurt the team whenever they tried to make some runs.
Toronto Raptors: C (Last Week C+)
The Raptors fell to a couple of contenders in week 4. They are a good team but nowhere near the upper echelon of the East. Dennis Schröder’s game has been hot and cold at the same time. Siakam needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end.
Utah Jazz: D+ (Last Week D)
Jordan Clarkson is balling right now. He’s been the main offensive weapon for the Jazz recently. Markkanen has yet to recapture his success last season but is slowly getting there as the games are starting to pile up. In addition, rookie point guard Keyonte George looks like a future starter for Utah.
Washington Wizards: D- (Last Week D)
Washington is on a 5 game losing streak right now and the team is just bad. Kuzma and Advija are the only players on the team who cares about winning. Jordan Poole has been a disaster for them this season and his shot selection continues to be questionable.
