With the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game 7 win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, it was confirmed that the Eastern Conference semifinals will have a repeat of the one in 2018. The Celtics faced the Cavs in that series, which the LeBron James-led Cleveland side won.
Even after 6 years of that loss, it still stings, admitted Jaylen Brown. “I feel like I’ve come a long way… It still stings a little bit that we lost in the end in Game 7. So we’re gonna make sure this series is a little different,” said a motivated Brown when he was asked about the match-up.
Jaylen Brown also declared that “ain’t no friends in the playoffs,” when asked about a match-up against his pal, Donovan Mitchell, who has been in fiery form of his own. Speaking of the Cavs ace, Jaylen added, “He’s explosive, three-level scorer, his strength gives him an advantage on a lot of defenders.”
LeBron James was in a similar explosive form when he came clutch in game 7 of the series back in 2018. His 35 points secured an NBA Finals spot for the Cavs after vanquishing the Cs in game 7. A matured Jaylen Brown has looked assured in the playoff series so far and will look to continue on the same gear.
