Every franchise is occupied with fixing their rosters as much as they can in the offseason. The Golden State Warriors are one such team that supposedly needs some changes as their situation with Klay Thompson is worsening. The franchise has been linked with many players, but they have clarified that they are not interested in letting go of their current core team.
According to Insider Monte Poole, “Getting a veteran impact player almost certainly would require moving Jonathan Kuminga, who projects to have the highest upside of Golden State’s under-25 players.” He further stated, “The Warriors have exhibited no desire to part with Kuminga, and their same intent has been applied to Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis.”
The words came from the franchise’s GM, Mike Dunleavy. He believes it’s a good sign that other teams are showing interest in their players, which only shows the quality their players have achieved. Whereas Moody played 66 games and scored 8.1 points per game.
Brandin appeared in 74 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists. With his outstanding performance in the first season, the guard earned his spot in the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Kuminga, who played for the same number of games, averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, while Trayce averaged 7.9 points and 5 rebounds in 68 games. They are certainly great backup options, but this could indicate less cap space for LA Clippers’ star Paul George.

Klay’s absence could be filled by PG-13, however, the Warriors’ decision to keep the four players could hamper the probable trade.
George might not be in his prime, but he still showcases masterclass performance. Playing alongside Curry for the Warriors would be even greater for the 34-year-old. A majority of it depends on George’s decision, which can be witnessed in a couple of days when the free agency market opens.
