The Golden State Warriors have hit the rocky road right after tasting glory for seasons. With the splitting of their core team, NBA player turned analyst Charles Barkley feels that they’re no longer capable of competing for championship contention.
Predicting the Warriors’ future, Barkley boldly stated, “They were mediocre last year, they’re going to be even more mediocre next year … that run is over.”
The franchise somehow managed to clinch the final playin spot but couldn’t get through to the playoffs. To fix their roster, they let go of Klay Thompson and Chris Paul but failed to land the Paul George deal, thanks to the Sixers’ golden offer.
To rebuild the decade-old bond between their Big 3, the Dubs need to find Klay’s replacement who would complement Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Together, the three veterans led the team to four championship titles in a span of six years.
However, that came to an end after the 2022 championship. Therefore, Sir Charles could be right in speculating that the Warriors are “past their prime so that run is over.” Unfortunately, Barkley is not the only one to feel that way.
Former Warriors Star Predicts Franchise’s Future
The Golden State Warriors are desperately trying to rebuild their squad so that they can bag one more championship title with their star players, Curry and Green. But their former legend, Baron Davis, does not see that happening.

During his appearance on “The Draymond Green Show,” the 45-year-old said, “We watch y’all go from young men to men to superstars to legends. I wish Klay the best, I’m a Klay fan but … sh*t man the dynasty is over!”
Draymond himself knows how difficult it is to pull the team to another championship run. Whereas, they are not even stable enough to deal with the other NBA teams. Some new names have been added to their roster, but to be back on track, the Warriors need way more than that.
