The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors on Saturday 118-108. This was the Lakers’ second win over the Warriors in a month. Golden State’s previous defeat came on Christmas Day when they lost a close game 115-113. The Warriors struggled to keep up with the Lakers after missing Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga.
This win also secured the Lakers’ third consecutive victory, pushing them to a 25-18 record for the season. With the victory, the Lakers continue to hold the fifth spot in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Warriors’ record drops to 22-23, leaving them in 11th place in the West.

Anthony Davis was the driving force behind the Lakers’ victory, delivering a dominant performance with 36 points, 13 rebounds, three steals, three assists, and three blocks on 13-of-23 shooting. Davis became only the second player this season to lead his team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks in a single game.

Davis’ performance also secured him a spot in Lakers history, as he now ranks fourth in 35-point, 10-rebound games, trailing only legends Elgin Baylor, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Lakers are now 12-5 when Davis scores 30 or more points this season.
LeBron James contributed a well-rounded effort with 25 points, 12 assists, five rebounds, and a steal. Austin Reaves added 16 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, while rookie Dalton Knecht chipped in with 13 points, including three three-pointers. Max Christie scored 11 points and had eight rebounds, shooting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
Steph Curry was held to just 13 points and nine assists on 4-of-17 shooting, including a woeful 2-of-9 from three-point range. Curry went scoreless in the second half, missing all eight of his field goal attempts. Andrew Wiggins led Golden State with 20 points, while Brandin Podziemski contributed 17 points and five assists.
