The Dallas Mavericks took to the court Sunday night, seeking revenge against the Golden State Warriors, who had defeated them earlier in the season. With Luka Doncic’s spectacular triple-double and Klay Thompson’s season-high performance, the Mavericks secured a 143-133 victory at Chase Center.
With the win, Dallas improved to 17-9, placing them fourth in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, Golden State dropped to 14-11, sitting in seventh place.
Dallas Mavericks Outshine Warriors In High-Scoring Thriller
The Mavericks set the tone early, outscoring the Warriors 46-33 in the first quarter. Golden State attempted a comeback, but despite hitting 27 three-pointers, the most ever made in a loss in NBA history, they couldn’t match Dallas’ offensive firepower.
The Mavericks shot 52-of-87 from the field, including 21-of-41 from beyond the arc, and finished with 143 points. Historically, the game set a new NBA record for the most combined three-pointers made in a single game, with the Mavericks and Warriors totaling 48.
Luka Doncic delivered a dominant performance, recording his first dunk of the season en route to a monster triple-double. He finished the game with 45 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, and six three-pointers while shooting 16-of-23 from the field.

Klay Thompson put on a show, playing against his former team, scoring a season-high 29 points in just 31 minutes. He also added five rebounds, four assists, and drained seven three-pointers with an impressive 89.5% true shooting percentage.

For the Mavericks, Kyrie Irving contributed 21 points and eight assists, while Dereck Lively II grabbed seven rebounds and added eight points. Quentin Grimes chipped in 14 points off the bench, and PJ Washington added 13 points in the win.
On the Warriors’ side, Andrew Wiggins matched Thompson with 29 points, while Stephen Curry contributed 26 points and 10 assists. Draymond Green had a strong outing with 21 points and seven rebounds, and Jonathan Kuminga scored 20 points.
Curry’s team’s next fight is set on Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Dallas team will take on the Los Angeles Clippers on the same day.
