Remember Klay Thompson? He was only one of the top NBA players when we last seen him on the court. That was back in June 2019, during the NBA Finals, when he suffered a torn ACL. That knee injury caused him to miss the entire 2019-2020 season, and he suffered a torn Achilles in November 2020 that caused him to miss all of the 2020-2021 season, and the first three months of this season.
But after nearly three hours of waiting, and countless hours of rehab, Klay Thompson is finally set to return to the hardcourt.
The Golden State Warriors superstar announced on Instagram that he would be returning to action tonight when his team hosts the Cleveland Cavaliers. He actually did it in rather hilarious fashion, using a clip from Space Jam while calling Bill Murray his “spirit animal.”

The announcement has everyone excited, but perhaps no one is more excited about the return of Klay than his teammates.
They’ve been all been voicing their pleasure on social media over the last 24 hours. And prior to today’s game at Chase Center, they all pulled up in their favorite Klay Thompson jerseys.

No word yet on exactly how much action Thompson will see, but just the fact that he’s out there should be a huge lift for a Warriors team that’s currently sitting in second place in the entire NBA, at 29-9.
