The Golden State Warriors won’t be playing tonight as scheduled due to a medical emergency that occurred at a restaurant, leaving one of their coaches hospitalized.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, assistant coach Dejan Milojevic was rushed to a Utah hospital while out at a restaurant on Tuesday night. The incident is reported to have taken place while Milojevic was dining with players and coaches in Salt Lake City ahead of their game against the Utah Jazz.
No other details are known at this point.
The Warriors announced Wednesday that they would provide updates on Milojevic’s status “as appropriate.”
Milojevic, 46, joined Steve Kerr’s staff in 2021 after making a name for himself as a coach overseas. He played professional basketball in Serbia, Turkey, Spain, and Montenegro and starred on the Serbian national team over the span of a 15-year career.
The NBA has announced that Wednesday’s game between the Warriors and Jazz has been pushed back as a result. They have not announced an alternate date as yet.
