The legacies of Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James are some of the most celebrated in basketball history. With each player leaving an indelible mark on the sport, choosing among them is a daunting task for any player, fan, or analyst.
Recently, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas faced a tough decision when asked to participate in a game of “start-bench-cut” featuring the three legends on The OGs podcast. Arenas made a surprising choice, cutting Kobe Bryant, starting LeBron James, and placing Michael Jordan on the bench.
“We’re just going to piss everybody off. Imma start LeBron, bench Jordan, cut Kobe. Kobe is my favorite player of all time, but I can’t have Jordan and Kobe on the same team,” Arenas said.
“Obviously, if Jordan starts and Kobe is coming off the bench, Jordan isn’t coming out for him. If I start Kobe, he ain’t subbing in Jordan,” Arenas added.
Anonymous Source Shuts Down Hopes of LeBron and Curry Joining Forces in the NBA
LeBron James and Stephen Curry teamed up for the first time in their careers at the Paris Olympics and led Team USA to a gold medal. Their collaboration on the court was a dream come true for many fans, who began speculating about the possibility of seeing them together on an NBA team in the future.
However, those hopes were quickly dashed. According to an anonymous NBA source who spoke with Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, the idea of LeBron and Curry teaming up in the NBA is simply not going to happen.

“Did (unnamed TV analyst) really say something about LeBron and Steph teaming up someday? That will never happen. In fact, they will never be on the same team again. Cool Olympic run for sure. But those two as teammates is over for all eternity,” Amico said.
The Paris Olympics were likely the final chapter of LeBron James’ Olympic career, and Curry’s future participation in the Olympics is also uncertain. This Olympic experience could very well be the first and last time these two basketball legends play together on the same team.
