One of the frequent topics that players and experts have questioned time and time again is who the best players are for each position. However, a former NBA player also shared his thoughts on the same subject. Gilbert Arenas, who recently faced criticism from fans, recently discussed his thoughts on the best players in the NBA right now at each position in an interview with DJ Vlad’s show.
“You’re talking about the best point guard today, and it’s either Luka or Curry. I’m going to go with Curry. As for the best shooting guard in the NBA today, it’s either Ant-Man or Devin Booker. I love Devin Booker, so I’m going with my Adidas brethren, Devin Booker. Okay, now this is bad because we don’t know what position. Because they play him out of position, Kevin Durant and LeBron James… But the problem is, I will cheat just to save face. I will go with Kevin Durant at the three and LeBron at the four. Just so I can cheat and get both of them in there. And then, for the five, I will go with Embiid. But if I had to go a real four… I’m gonna go with Giannis at four.” Arenas said.
When asked about the best players, Arenas acknowledged the challenge of selecting players due to the presence of some unique talents on the court. His picks were as follows: Steph Curry as the point guard, Devin Booker as the shooting guard, LeBron James as the small forward, Kevin Durant as the power forward, and Joel Embiid as the center. However, Arenas also mentioned that Nikola Jokic could be better for building a team from scratch because of his playmaking abilities.
Gilbert Arenas Draws Bold Parallels Between LeBron James and Kanye West
During the same interview, Arenas also drew attention to the topics surrounding Los Angeles Lakers star player LeBron James. The former NBA player made a severe comparison between James and Kanye West.
“With LeBron, it’s very different. He’s all-purpose. Just like anything that’s all-purpose, you can put different pieces, and this person can adjust to it. Just like in the music industry, a guy who is multi-talented, doing different things, you can never box him in.” Arenas said.
Arenas played for four different clubs for 11 seasons. Because of his extensive NBA expertise, he is frequently invited to the podcast.
