Another video featuring Ja Morant holding what appears to be a gun has caused concern among those in the NBA world.
It was a shocking turn of events for a superstar player who just dealt with the same thing months ago and claimed he would be a better person.
If there’s one player who has been in Ja Morant’s shoes and can sympathize with him, it’s Gilbert Arenas.
Morant just can’t seem to find a way to keep himself out of trouble, leading to a guy who is quite familiar with finding himself in trouble in Gilbert Arenas to lend him more advice.
Arenas stated Morant truly needs to get some help because he may have a drug or alcohol problem at this point.
Ja Morant had a difficult season with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2022-23, which resulted in his club being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Lakers. And things have gotten worse for Morant early in the offseason, as he was suspended from the Grizzlies’ forthcoming offseason activities for once again brandishing a gun on an Instagram Live video.

That isn’t the first time Arenas has tried to lend Morant advice, as he mentioned he believes he can truly clean up his image by cutting his hair off after his initial suspension midway through the season. Arenas mentions that and a plethora of other things here, but his advice has already been ignored because Morant has already gone out and gotten himself suspended with the exact same actions.
With Morant facing greater consequences for his behavior, it will be intriguing to see what his future holds with the Grizzlies and, to a lesser extent, the NBA. Morant is only 23 years old, yet this is his second suspension in as many months, and it’s reasonable to wonder how much longer this can go on before he faces serious penalties.
Nike stood by him the first time, but we will have to see if they do it yet again.
