Didn’t notice it before, but Austin Rivers really looks like Andrew Tate.
Rivers, a guard who last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the son of former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers, was speaking about how Damian Lillard’s trade demands could affect the NBA in a recent clip that featured on Arenas’s ‘Gil’s Arena’ podcast when the host mistook him for the outspoken social media influencer.
The footage was supposed to kick off some discourse about the pertinent situation but ended up going another way when Arenas exclaimed, “I thought he was in jail!”
This prompted a bit of confusion around the room, with one of his co-hosts asking, “Austin Rivers?”
“I thought that was Andrew Tate,” Gilbert explained.
“So that ain’t Andrew Tate?” he asked moments later, seeking clarity. “That’s Doc’s son? Okay.”

To be fair, Rivers does bear a striking resemblance to Tate that folks probably never saw before Arenas mentioned it. Although we don’t know why Gil would think that Tate would have time to speak about impending NBA trades given the charges he’s facing in Romania.
On another note, while Tate has been charged, he is not in prison anymore and is under house arrest in said country after spending six months behind bars.
