The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo recently declared he won’t sign resign with the Milwaukee Bucks until he has championship commitment, and the rumors have flown.
With his future with the Bucks uncertain, teams around the league would be willing to offer major packages to build a contender around the 2 time MVP. Recently, Lee Tran from Fadeway World proposed a massive trade to send Giannis to the Golden State Warriors for a package centered around Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Gary Payton II, and two first round picks.
The trade would shake up the league, as the long time Eastern Conference contender would embrace a rebuild around a younger team and the Warriors would maximize their championship window by adding a top 3 player to their core of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson.
After winning the NBA Championship in 2021, Giannis, 28, has looked to become a multiple time champion, but after a 1st round knockout in 2023, his patience is understandably thinning. In the prime of his career, Giannis is moving his way up the all time pedigree, and a new team may be the right move.
Golden State is no stranger to buying into contention. The Warriors famously signed Kevin Durant after a 73-9 season, assembling one of the greatest teams of all time.
Would the Bucks accept this trade? Would the Warriors make this trade? That remains to be seen, but one thing for certain is Giannis is ready to win now. Where he will be is the real question.
