Rather than signing with the LA Clippers in free agency, Giannis Antetokounmpo wishes Kawhi Leonard had stayed with the Toronto Raptors, because he was hoping to play them again in the postseason, but have a different result the next time around.
Instead of facing the Raptors, he just might be playing for them in the future.
The reigning MVP won’t be a free agent until the end of the 2020-’21 season, but his name is being thrown around as a possible candidate to actually take his talents to the Toronto Raptors.
He certainly has a fan base there as Toronto has one of the largest Greek communities in North America, and they came out in full force on New Year’s Day to greet him after the Bucks took on the Raptors.
That isn’t the biggest reason why he would go there, but NBA insider Marc J. Spears of ESPN is linking the Greek Freak to Toronto during his free agency, even though leaving Milwaukee would cost him a ton of money in the process.

Milwaukee will likely throw a ton of money at him to make sure their MVP doesn’t leave town, but you can’t discount the Raptors after they traded for Kawhi Leonard and brought a title home in just the first season.
