Fans think Gary Payton II played an entire defensive possession with vomit in his mouth during the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.
The defending NBA champions are down 3-1 after the 104-101 loss and are on the brink of elimination, with a crucial Game 5 set for Wednesday night.
Payton started for the Warriors on Monday and, during a defensive possession in the middle of the game, was shown with a full mouth before leaving the floor having motioned for the game to be stopped. The game was not brought to a halt but he left anyway, though there was no sign of an injury or the like.
It certainly appears that the guard puked in his mouth and held it in. But check the sequence out in the video below and make of it what you will.

Steve Kerr’s decision to add Payton to the starting lineup was a strange one as he’d only gotten a single start in the regular season and his production has dwindled since the second game against the Sacramento Kings in the first round.
Leaving his team short a man because his stomach had other plans is not his fault. But he might not get the nod on Wednesday.
