Boston Celtics’ forward Oshae Brissett used social media to make fun of Udonis Haslem and Stephen A. Smith. After five games, the Dallas Mavericks were knocked down by the Boston Celtics, who took care of business. Monday’s dominant performance in Game 5 ensured that Boston would not need to return to Dallas to extend the NBA Finals.
Boston prevailed in the series finale, winning 106-88 in game 5. Jaylen Brown, who averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and five assists, won the MVP title for the Finals. The Mavs’ standout player, Luka Doncic, averaged 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game during the series, but the East club proved superior.
Brissett took to X (formerly Twitter) to mock the experts who predicted the Mavericks would win before the start of the finals. In an episode of First Take before Game 1, ESPN’s Smith and former Miami Heat forward Haslem predicted that the Mavs would win the series.
Brissett teased the two analysts on X, writing, “Game 6 soon gotta lock in.”
Stephen A. Smith and Udonis Haslem Predicted That the Mavs Will Close Out the Series in the Last Two Games
Nobody, including Smith and Haslem, expected Boston to win in five games on Monday night. Both selected the Mavericks in the series and even agreed on Doncic as the Finals MVP.
Smith said: “I got the Mavs in 6 in Dallas. I can’t see anybody going to Game 7 in Boston in that environment and winning for an NBA championship on the line. And I’m going to have to go with Luka [Doncic].”

Meanwhile, Haslem said, “Dallas, I got Dallas winning. I think Dallas is deeper. You talking about [Dante] Exum on the bench, they got [Josh] Green coming off the bench, they got [Dereck] Lively coming off the bench. Tim Hardaway Jr., who doesn’t get much playing time is also coming off the bench… seven games and I got Luka [Doncic] winning MVP.”
Andraya Carter also chose the Mavericks for the NBA Finals. Carter projected that the series would conclude in six games, with Doncic claiming MVP honors. Only Molly Qerim, one of the four contestants, predicted Boston to win the series.
