Following the reports, TMZ’s Michael J. Babcock provided a disturbing update on West’s recent brush with the law. Babcock noted that the 40-year-old was approached by officers trying to serve a warrant when he fled on foot. He was found unconscious and had to be revived at a hospital before being taken to jail.
“Delonte West situation was far more serious than it first seemed. We’re told cops were attempting to serve West a warrant when he took off on foot. Cops gave chase but briefly lost sight of Delonte,” Babcock reported.
“They ultimately discovered him on the ground ‘unresponsive.’ Narcan (reverses effects of opioids) was used, but didn’t work. West was transported to a local hospital where Narcan was administered again. This time it worked. Delonte was eventually discharged from the hospital, and taken to jail. Things were dire for a time.”
