Since Kyrie Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2023, his partnership with Luka Doncic has transformed the team, pushing them to new heights. The duo led the Mavericks to their first NBA Finals appearance in 13 years last season.
Although they fell short against the Boston Celtics in the Finals, the chemistry between Irving and Doncic has quickly made them a fan favorite. One notable admirer of the Mavericks’ iconic pairing is former NBA player Chandler Parsons.
During his appearance on the “Run It Back” show this week, Parsons shared just how impressive the Irving-Doncic duo has become. Parsons even went on to claim them the greatest backcourt in the history of basketball.
“I think they’re better, yeah. Nobody expected them to get to the Finals last year. I think that that was a huge success for that team. And now you look at this dynamic duo that creates so much attention and so much offensive movement with Luka and Kyrie. Then you add arguably the greatest shooter of all time to that roster, and they get deeper,” Parsons said.
“The team doesn’t have to stay healthy. Luka and Kyrie have to stay healthy..arguably the greatest backcourt in the history of basketball,” he added.
