Former NBA All-Star Brandon Roy had to rush in and restrain his daughter after punches started flying at the end of a high school basketball game in which she was playing.
Roy, who was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2007 and a three-time All-Star, played professionally until 2013.
He is now the head coach of the boys’ basketball team at Garfield High School in Seattle, while his daughter Mariah plays for the girls’ team.
A game between Garfield and West Seattle finished in a wild on-court brawl this week. The former came away with a win on Wednesday night, but a West Seattle player got a little salty and tried to pick the ball off a Garfield player while she tried dribbling out the clock at the end of the fixture.
The Garfield player did not take kindly to the meaningless defending and threw the ball at her opponent, sparking a brawl.
