And one of the biggest reasons for their poor showing has been cited as Joel Embiid and Paul George. Both the stars have struggled significantly this season. Fighting to clinch the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference, the 76ers got some harsh advice from Kendrick Perkins. The former NBA champion has asked the 76ers to move on from the George-Embiid pairing.
Appearing on the ESPN halftime show, Perkins opined, “Trade them both..We’ve been talking about where Kevin Durant is gonna go this offseason with the Phoenix Suns. Same thing with the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid and Paul George are both in Tyrese Maxey’s way.”

Tyrese Maxey has been one of the consistent performers on the team. He is currently averaging 27.9 points and also won the NBA Most Improved Player last season. Meanwhile, while Perkins’ take might come out as harsh, there is no denying that Embiid has missed a significant number of games.

Since he has played 446 games since his inclusion to the 76ers roster, his missed game percentage stands at a whopping 47.3%. Now, with discontent rising significantly, calls of trading Embiid are gaining momentum. Thus, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
