Donovan Mitchell actually might’ve saved the life or at least prevented the spread of the Coronavirus less than 24 hours ago.
Mitchell, who was diagnosed with COVID-19, was seen on video before the Jazz-Thunder game telling a fan that they couldn’t touch a basketball because they might have the coronavirus. As we know now, it was him that had the coronavirus.
This comes after fellow teammate and Jazz Center Rudy Gobert’s positive test caused the NBA to suspend their season indefinitely.
The Utah Jazz released a statement about the “additional player” on Thursday, stating Mitchell is the only additional positive test.
“As a follow-up to yesterday’s positive COVID-19 test, Oklahoma health officials tested all members of the Utah Jazz traveling party, confirming one additional positive outcome for a Jazz player. We are working closely with the CDC, Oklahoma and Utah state officials, and the NBA to monitor their health and determine the best path moving forward.”
