As early as age 15, Kobe Bryant was well established as a prodigy on the basketball court. Years before he would take his talents to the NBA and win five championships, he was dunking like a pro.
In the wake of his tragic death this past Sunday in a helicopter accident, footage of the Lakers legend first slam dunk contest had come to light back during his days at Lower Merion in Philadelphia.
His dunks included a tomahawk dunk, him slamming it down over two youngsters, and Bryant tossing the ball in the air and catching it in the air and flushing it backwards.
Bryant won the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest as a rookie.
