Video footage of police arresting former NBA star Ben Gordon has been released.
On Tuesday, Gordon was arrested in Stamford, Connecticut in what believe described as a “bizarre” incident at a juice shop, per Jennifer Millman of NBC New York. Gordon reportedly acted aggressively toward the shop’s employees, prompting them to call police.
Video footage obtained by TMZ shows five police officer subduing Gordon. He was arrested on weapons charges as well as making threats. Gordon was reportedly in possession of a knife, brass knuckles and a stun gun.
Per Millman, police stated that Gordon was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. His family later posted $10,000 bond, and Millman’s report added that Gordon will appear in court some time later this month.
Gordon’s arrest in Stamford comes nearly six months after he was arrested at the LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York for allegedly punching his son. According to witnesses, Gordon punched his son in the face and allegedly assaulted police officers as they tried getting him in the car.
The Chicago Bulls drafted Gordon third overall in 2004. He played his first five NBA seasons with the organization, helping them to the postseason four times. Gordon was named the Sixth Man of the Year in his rookie 2004-05 season, having averaged 15.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and two assists per game.

The 40-year-old also played three seasons with the Detroit Pistons, two with the Charlotte Bobcats and one with the Orlando Magic. Gordon averaged 14.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and as many assists per game in his playing career.
