Fat Joe seems to be real bitter about Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving choosing to sign with the Brooklyn Nets over his beloved New York Knicks.
“You gotta understand, a lot of players, and I’ll call ’em out – Kyrie [Irving], [Kevin] Durant – they don’t want that New York Knicks pressure. They didn’t want that media attention. They didn’t want Sports Illustrated being right in their backyard. They didn’t want that, so they said, ‘alright, we want New York, but let’s do the lesser of the drama, let’s go to Brooklyn.”
During a recent interview with Complex — Fat Joe recalled the legendary game where Kevin Durant came out to play ball at NYC’s famed Rucker Park in 2011 when he dropped 66 points and sent the fans into a frenzy.
“I remember I just put my shorts and jersey on and my shoes, then I look up and it’s packed all the way to the gate, playing music, and seeing people in the high-risers across the street turning lights on and opening windows,” said Durant. “It was like something out of a movie.”
He also stated how the opposing team was upset about that performance that they chased him out of the park.
