The LA Clippers stunned the NBA community with their latest decision to bring back one of the most controversial players of the current era, Kevin Porter Jr. After being tangled with legal issues for a full season, the guard is reportedly making a comeback on the hardwood.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania broke the news that several prospects were setting their eyes on the 24-year-old following his recent performance in PAOK BC, Greece. However, Porter decided to stick to the LA side. As per the Insider, the Clips and KPJ settled on a two-year contract which includes a player option. While this could be good news for both parties, the fans didn’t take it well. They showed utter disappointment in Charania’s X (FKA Twitter) comment section.
Furious with the franchise’s choice to bring back Porter, a fan wrote, “Clippers signing woman beaters and strip club enthusiasts”.
While another fan wrote, “Should be playing in jail tbh”.
“Perfect organization for him”, claimed someone mockingly.

Shocked by the recent moves of the Clips, one fan commented, “They got rid of PG to sign a woman beater”.
Whereas another felt that they were a “Joke of a franchise”.
“The Clippers are desperate”, added another one.
The fans on social media platforms can sometimes be a little bitter. However, this time they had proper reasons to be angry because of Porter’s past.
Clippers Giving Chance to KPJ Despite His Past History
Kevin Porter Jr. would not have faced any ridicule if he hadn’t been involved in a domestic assault case. The man who looked like a promising candidate for the Houston franchise had allegedly abused his girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick, the WNBA guard.
As per police reports, Gondrezick was found covered in blood with a cut on her face. The pair were in a hotel in New York where the incident occurred. Though Porter was arrested in September 2023 for mercilessly beating the Chicago Sky guard, the charges were soon withdrawn by her.
The matter was settled with Porter pleading guilty. So the court ordered him to attend a 26-week Abusive Partner Intervention Program to avoid jail time. Reluctant to handle such legal issues, the Rockets traded Porter to the Thunder. Right after the trade, even the OKC waived him off.
KPJ showed interest in returning to the league after his exit and now the youngster is getting the chance thanks to the Clippers.
