The Utah Jazz were in Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder when, immediately before tip-off, both teams were escorted to their locker rooms. The PA announcer would soon tell fans that the game was postponed, stating it was “due to unforeseen circumstances” but that everyone in attendance was “safe.”
The Athletic’s Shams Charania then shocked the sports world when he said Utah center Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The NBA would cancel the season shortly after. Soon after that, video would surface showing Gobert making light of the coronavirus by touching all the microphones arrayed before him.
He was blasted for that and even more when teammate Donovan Mitchell tested positive as well.
Fans took their anger to the next level by not only blasting him online, but wishing death on the star Jazz player.
