Zion Williamson has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons when a report stated the young phenom had put on a ton of weight.
The former Duke sensation reportedly was said to have weighed 330 pounds standing at 6″6′ tall. However, a fan photo of him showed he looked nowhere near that number. The Pelicans forward has played only 85 games since being drafted in 2019 and durability continues to be an issue.
During a recent episode of Undisputed on Fox Sports, Skip Bayless revealed his crazy and alleged diet.
“I’m told his weight isn’t quite 330 (lbs). But it’s more 310-ish, which is still a huge, huge problem,” Bayless said. “And yet the good news is that he just hired a trainer from LSU, (who) I’m told is very good. The bad news is he still likes to eat whole pizzas washed down with high-sugar soft drinks.”
Williamson has not played all season after undergoing foot surgery in the summer. To make matters worse, Williamson has suffered a setback in his rehab process and will be dialed back even more.
“After experiencing persistent soreness in his right foot, Zion Williamson underwent medical imaging which showed a regression in the bone healing of his fifth metatarsal,” the Pelicans said in a statement Saturday. “As a result, the volume and intensity of his training will be reduced for an extended period to help allow for further bone healing.”
