Back in April, Sebastian Telfair found himself in the news for the first time since he’s been out of the NBA, but it wasn’t for anything good.
The former 13th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers was in the midst of weapons possession trial that turned into a “Basketball Wives” episode when his estranged wife and mistress showed up to testify against him.
He was found guilty of felony criminal possession of a weapon.
Just before his sentencing, his estranged wife decided to officially move on with her life by finally filing for divorce.

According to court records, Samantha Telfair filed documents on Thursday to end their marriage. The couple had already split a few years ago and they have two children together.
As The Blast first reported, Samantha got a temporary restraining order against Sebastion last year after she claimed he showed up to her house on January 12, 2018 and smashed her windshield and destroyed a video doorbell device.
According to court documents, Samantha said Sebastian “has become increasingly hostile, unstable and violent.” She also said Sebastian had “texted to me that he wants to die on numerous occasions and I believe that he is suicidal.”
Telfair would be due back in court in June for sentencing where he faces up to 15 years in prison.
