Sebastian Telfair has been a rough life since his days in the NBA and they just got a whole lot worse.
Erica Telfair, the mother of former NBA and Abraham Lincoln High School star, reportedly passed away due to complications from battling the coronavirus. She was just 64-years-old.
Her death comes about a month after her son and Sebastian’s older brother, Dan Turner, died March 28 from COVID-19. Former Knicks and Nets guard Stephon Marbury, Telfair’s cousin, confirmed to the Undefeated that Turner died from COVID-19. He also noted that Telfair’s mom was “fighting for her life” at the time because of “this virus.”
Telfair remembered his brother on Instagram back in March.
“Let me see them X-rays. I ain’t no expert. We just hurt!” was posted on Sebastian’s Instagram story along with his mom’s name.
Sebastian Telfair was drafted No. 13 overall by the Trail Blazers in 2004, and although he never lived up to the hype, he did carve out a 10-year career.
