Luka Doncic appears to have let himself go following his appearance in the NBA Finals last season.
The Dallas Mavericks star found himself one step closer to that elusive championship earlier this year but was ousted by the Boston Celtics, whose young superstars ensured he would have to wait at least another year.
The Slovenian was back in action on Saturday night as he joined the likes of Nikola Jokic and other NBA players for Goran Dragic’s farewell game in their home country. Luka appeared to be several sizes larger before tip-off.
An account posting a clip of the All-Star point guard joked he looked like he swapped bodies with Jokic.

Of course, fans had a lot to say.
“Doncic diets like he plays defense, which makes him the blow-by king,” one wrote. “That’s why he’ll always be overrated no matter how good he is offensively. He was the target of the Celtics virtually every play down court during the playoffs. Easy wins when they did that.
“51 yr old Steve Nash in better shape than my favourite player bro. 😭,” another claimed.
“He borrowing that fat suit from Harden’s closet,” someone quipped.
“dad bod,” a comment read.
“Dude.. he has so much body fat for an NBA PG this is actually crazy,” another read.
“NGL, dude better get that conditioning program going asap,” someone advised.
Another video showed him running down the court for an uncontested layup, and he didn’t look any smaller.
A Storied Western Conference Franchise Is Reportedly Keen On Signing Luka Doncic
There’s still time for the Mavs star to introduce “Skinny Luka,” as he’s known to do in the offseason. But it does appear that he has his work cut out for him.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in making Luca Doncic the new face of their franchise after LeBron James retires.
That’s according to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, who claims the Lakers have plans to make a play for him in the future.
