Rudy Gobert, the center for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is widely considered one of the best defensive players ever. The 32-year-old, who was recently supported by a former NBA coach, has been named Defensive Player of the Year four times due to his exceptional defensive skills. In addition to his basketball abilities on the court, Gobert aims to develop skills in other sports.
On Monday, Social media account MMA Factory Paris posted photos and videos of Gobert learning fighting skills from French professional mixed martial artist and former Muay Thai fighter Ciryl Gane.
In the video, Gobert is seen throwing punches at Gane, the former Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion. The footage becomes particularly exciting for fans as they joke about the Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Many fans hilariously warn Green to be careful in the next season because Gobert is ready to take him down on the court.
One fan joked by posting a photo of a kid, mentioning that Green has the same look after watching Gobert’s video: “Draymond Green watching this.”
Meanwhile, another fan criticized Gobert stating, “Bro started boxing before adding an offensive game as a max contract player.”

Another fan posted the photo of Green and Gobert’s fight and mentioned that Gobert is preparing to defend the four-time NBA champion next time, “Preparing so he can defend himself next time.”
Another fan mentioned, “Bro boutta get into a 1v1 with Draymond the next time he faces the warriors.”
Several fans also joked about Gobert preparing to face off against Shaquille O’Neal after the former Lakers star criticized him as the worst NBA player ever. However, the four-time defensive player of the year has since responded to Shaq’s criticism.
Rudy Gobert Responds to Shaquille O’Neal’s Recent Criticism
Former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most entertaining personalities in NBA history. He has been spotted making fun of several players on different podcasts. During a recent interview on Complex’s GOAT Talk podcast, O’Neal criticized Rudy Gobert when he was asked about the worst NBA player, also mentioning Ben Simmons. In response to the criticism, Gobert fired back at O’Neal in a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.” Gobert wrote.
Many players have criticized Gobert because of his achievements and think that he doesn’t deserve the DPOY awards. However, the next season will start soon, and the French basketball player will have a chance to silence all the criticism with his performances.
