Despite Team USA’s success, there’s uncertainty surrounding the future of head coach Steve Kerr, who recently revealed the ‘Unsung MVP’ from Team USA.
According to recent reports by NBA insider Marc Stein, Kerr is not expected to return as the head coach of USA Basketball in the next Olympics. Stein believes that Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of the Miami Heat, and Ty Lue, the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, are the top candidates to replace Kerr.
“It’s expected that he’ll be replaced by either Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra or Clippers head coach Ty Lue, both of whom were Kerr’s assistant coaches on the gold medal team this summer at the Paris Olympics.” Stein wrote in his latest reports.
