In a shocking announcement, Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed his retirement while still being one of the most trusted NBA insiders in the industry. Soon after, Adam Schefter shared a heartfelt message about his colleague, but Bill Simmons mocked him for it.
“He wanted his life back. He didn’t want to have to work on holidays. He didn’t want to be away from more family gatherings,” Schefter said.
“He didn’t want to have to…take a shower with your phone up against the shower door so you can see a text that’s coming in, or take your phone with you to the urinal and hold it in one hand while you take care of your business in the other. That’s the life that we live,” he continued.
Soon after, on his podcast, Simmons called out Schefter for overdramatizing the reactions over Woj’s retirement.
While reading Schefter’s comments, Simmons and his guest can be heard letting out heavy laughs, clearly not agreeing with the severity of what was said.
“This is a real thing Adam Schefter said on television. Was Adrian Wojnarowski an ER doctor during COVID? I wasn’t sure.” Simmons said.

It’s clear that many people agree with Simmons and that the struggles of being a sports insider are being blown way out of proportion.
“Peak Bill, for once he has his finger on the pulse that shefter thing was gross lol,” said one comment.
“This is the best Simmons take in years! Hilarious and he’s right on,” said another.
“Bill on point here, these guys that just get tweets from the league like come on,” a third added.
Bill Simmons has A Very Diverse Working Background
Simmons is mostly known for his work on outlets like ESPN, being the owner of The Ringer and working as an analyst for NBA Countdown.
However, many don’t know he spent a year and a half as a comedy writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live!
