Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently shared his picks for his All-Time Team USA starting five, notably leaving out Michael Jordan. However, regarding the NBA, Arenas holds a different opinion about Jordan.
Recently, Anthony Edwards claimed that Michael Jordan was the only player in his era with skill. Though for the claim he received a pile of backlashes from the former players, Arenas came forward in support of the Minnesota Timberwolves star. On a recent episode of the “Gil’s Arena” podcast, Arenas shared his thoughts on the discussion, agreeing with Edwards’ assessment of Jordan’s era.
“Basically, all Jordan’s competition in that era did not even have the physical tools to keep up with him. So he was basically a Bugatti, and everybody else was a Honda Civic. All the shooting guards were 6’4 and under. They didn’t have no jumping ability, right?” Arenas said.
“So who he went against, he’s saying they weren’t talented, meaning they weren’t athletic to keep up with them today,” Arenas added.

Similar to Edwards, Arenas also faced criticism from fans. They argued that several other notable stars deserve to be included in the conversation alongside Jordan. Fans disagreed with the former NBA star’s perspective and voiced their opposition to Arenas’ views in the comments.
