Stephen Curry, the star player of the Golden State Warriors, has gained a large fan base throughout his professional career. His exceptional skills, especially his shooting ability on the court, have earned him praise from several athletes, analysts, and fans. However, due to his popularity, he also faces frequent trolling from haters.
One such incident occurred when a parody account, NBA Centel on X (formerly on Twitter), posted fake news about Evan Turner, a former NBA player and current assistant coach of the Boston Celtics.
“Evan Turner: ‘Stephen Curry would have been nothing special had he played in my day.’” NBA Centel wrote in their post.
However, the post caught Turner’s attention, who later clarified that he didn’t say such words about Curry.
“I’m honored that I’m worthy of nbaCENTEL fake news but I’d never say anything like this lol it’s damn near blasphemous.” Turner wrote in his latest post.
NBA fans were surprised by Turner’s response and started praising him in the comment section for clearing things out with his post on X. One fan said, “Somebody’s gonna think it’s real, too, and report on it.”

Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “especially considering he did play in your day… he was drafted in 2009 and you were drafted in 2010.”
There’s an NBA enthusiast who commented, “bro had to make sure everybody knows he ain’t say this centel on a generational run.”
Another fan reacted, “You two literally played in “your day” lol. But being put in a Centel post is a honor. I’m glad you willing to take it.”
The NBA Journeys of Evan Turner and Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry, widely regarded as the greatest shooter in NBA history, has been a dominant force behind the Warriors’ recent success. Alongside star players Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, the 36-year-old, who recently signed a contract extension with the Warriors, has clinched four championships for the team. Additionally, Curry is the 2022 NBA Finals MVP, two-time NBA MVP, and 10-time NBA All-Star.
On the other hand, Evan Turner played 10 seasons in his professional NBA career for five teams: the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, and Atlanta Hawks. His best stats came in the 2013-14 season, where he averaged 17.4 points, 3.7 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game.
