With the Boston Celtics 18th NBA trophy win, their star Jaylen Brown also had an accolade-filled last season. Brown just ended up a season winning his first NBA Finals MVP title after bagging the Eastern Conference MVP title. Recently, Brown has stirred controversy by revealing his all-time starting 5 in the NBA.
The Celtics star named Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Bill Russell in his starting list. The revelation of Brown came as a shock for the NBA fans, who used to see Michael Jordan’s name in almost all the best starting lineups.
Many fans voiced their dissatisfaction with Brown’s list. They think any all-time list without Jordan should not be accepted at any cost.

Bill Simmons Weighs In on Jaylen Brown’s Olympic Snub
Despite having an impressive season, Jaylen Brown was left off Team USA’s roster for the Paris Olympics. After Kawhi Leonard was sidelined due to injuries, speculation emerged about Brown potentially being added. However, Brown’s supporters were disappointed when Derrick White, his Celtics teammate, was chosen as Leonard’s replacement.
In a recent podcast, Bill Simmons addressed the situation, suggesting that the decision was reasonable.
“You don’t really have minutes for Jaylen Brown, who just won the Finals MVP. He was on a championship team, and adding him last minute because Kawhi is out wouldn’t work well for team chemistry,” Simmons explained.
Though Brown was reportedly upset by the decision, he stayed composed and supported White. Some speculate that Brown’s public support for Kyrie Irving against Nike might have influenced the decision.
“He probably thinks he’s on the same level as KD (Kevin Durant) and [Jayson] Tatum and LeBron [James] at this point, and he might not be wrong. But to me, it made sense not to have him because it brings up all the chemistry stuff that you want to avoid,” Simmons added.
