ESPN had a difficult night at the NBA Draft on Wednesday.
The network’s coverage got off to an erroneous start as they got two names wrong in the early going. The Worldwide Leader in Sports, as they’re known, showed some of the players who were attending the event but would mislabel a pair of their intros.
Tidjane Salaun, who was later drafted by the Charlotte Hornets at No. 6 overall, was identified as Dalton Knecht. Kyshawn George was also wrongly named, with the graphic branding him Bub Carrington. George was selected by the Washington Wizards after they acquired the 24th overall pick from the New York Knicks.
Of course, social media didn’t miss.

The 2024 NBA Draft Was One Of The Most Underwhelming In Years
This year’s NBA Draft had very little hype going into Wednesday, unlike last year when French sensation Victor Wembanyama was about to join the San Antonio Spurs.
Most fans were unaware of who the top prospects were, and many of them learned of the incoming class on the night of the draft. Still, everyone was familiar with the name Bronny James, although it wasn’t called on Wednesday night, as the guard is expected to be a second-round pick.
Zaccharie Risacher was the No. 1 pick this time around, with the Atlanta Hawks making the selection. The Wizards took Alexandre Sarr at No. 2.
Sarr, who, like Wembanyama, hails from France, was projected to go first overall but refused to work out for Atlanta.
